Three things done!
Well so far Roxy and I made the sweet potato casserole and the cheese balls. Yummy! And then her friend who is like a second child to me came over and helped with the pecan pie. We are taking a break from the kitchen right now but we are going to be making the green bean casserole next and then the pumpkin pie! That should do it for tonight unless I think of something else. : )
I didn't show this doll yet! She is Sonja from Underworld - Rise of the Lycans.
I am seriously considering redressing my dolls for the holidays. Hum...

Ice was fun!
Yesterday Roxy and I went to see Ice at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando. The Gaylord Palms is ridiculously beautiful... we drove up, parked and walked through the doors to experience winter in Florida.
There are plenty of picture opportunities as you step inside the first room which is roughly the size of a ballroom with enormous ornaments hang from the triple high ceilings. To your right you will find a typical mall Santa set up to have your kid’s pictures taken on Santa's lap. There is also a large, glassed in snow scape with a train set. The kids will enjoy looking at this, I know I did.
At the end of the room there are two entrances. On the right is the Ice gift shop and the left is Ice itself. As you enter the Ice entrance someone helps you choose a parka to keep you warm. Unfortunately someone forgot to add pockets to the parka. On second though, it may have been intentional. Can you imagine how many things would be forgotten in the pockets? However, I love pockets and missed them. I might bring gloves next year.
As you round the corner snuggled up in your blue parka you are asked to step in front of a blue screen to have your picture taken, another money spending opportunity which we declined and passed right on by. Finally the doors are opened for you and you step inside.
The first room surrounds you in ice. The ice sculpture before you is of old man winter and on either side are carvings of children playing in the ice. Everything is huge and as I try to take a picture I look over at Roxanne and mention something about it being colder than last year. If is freezing in here!
Room after room is a delight as we encountered ice sculptures of polar bears, a camp fire with children playing, and plenty of landscaping. There are ice arches, spiky ice hallways, an entire room dedicated to ice ornaments, gorgeous ice angels, and more. We finally enter a room with a full sized ice carousal. Horses with people riding them all carved to perfection in ice. They also included little seats so you could hop up there and take some pictures. In fact, they give you a lot of places to stop and take pictures at with little cushion seats which makes it nice. I took a lot of pictures but I was freezing!
Another room had a full nativity set which is just amazing to look at and the next room a full scale slide for children (and adults) surrounded by Santa's reindeer. We opted out of sliding and instead enjoyed the artistry of the sculptures.
Ice was over before we knew it. If you walk slowly and really look at everything it takes about 15 minutes to see it all. We could go a little slower I suppose but it was so COLD! They have to keep that ice frozen but Roxy and I could hardly feel our faces any more. I took plenty of pictures which I will share on Sunday.
As you leave Ice you are directed to turn in your parka and look at that picture you took on the way in. Finally you are deposited into the gift shop for more spending opportunities! Of course we purchased several ornaments for our tree to remember our experience by, a tradition we started last year. After that you are directed back into the resort where you follow signs to some free hot cocoa.
Last year was our first year of seeing Ice. We decided to do it again this year because it was just so cool (literally). Pros are that you are not likely to see anything like it. It is truly beautiful and amazing at the same time. Lots of chances for pictures and it is so cold. Cons are it is expensive. With an $18.99 price ticket plus $12.00 parking and all of the spending opportunities Ice can cost you quite a bit for only an hour of your time. That would include stopping for everything and taking your time in the gift shop. But there is the free hot cocoa!
Of course we followed the signs but instead of enjoying our hot cocoa (it was in the 80s yesterday in Florida) we took a little tour of the resort again. There are plenty of shops, a gorgeous man made nature walk with coy ponds, a real boat, and actual glassed in wildlife. In the center of it all a giant Christmas tree. This part of the resort is called the atrium because it has a fully domed, glass ceiling. Last year we were here in the day but this year we saw it in the evening so it was pretty neat to see it in two different ways.
Will we do Ice again next year? Probably.

About to leave for Ice!
Really looking forward to seeing Ice this year. I posted a little video about it down below. If I can I will take pictures while we are there. I don't have a small camera so I will have to do it with my phone. Maybe I can get someone (hint hint) to help me upload them onto my computer.
Anyway - gotta finish getting ready!

Good morning!
I have been super busy over the last couple of days getting my home ready for holiday company. I even - dare I say it - put up my Christmas tree. I have never done that before Thanksgiving but so what! It looks so pretty. I will have to take some pictures.
I did take pictures of my office/studio. I spend so much time in here organizing. Look at all the dolls I have just in this room! Some are mine but many are to be painted.
It is time for me to go and paint but I wanted to say thanks to Steve J! And to Roxy - I had so much fun with you decorating the tree - thank you!
Okay - gotta go!

Happy Thursday!
So my doggie decided to get up a little earlier than I am use to but at least I got a shower in and I am wide awake now. I can always rest later on. I can hear the H.S. band practicing this morning. It is 60 degrees so I opened my kitchen window for some fresh air.
I don't think we are keeping this weather long so I am going to enjoy it as much as I can. It has been a super hot, record breaking heat wave fall! Wahhhh My favorite time of the year too. : (
My schedule is a little off this week so I am not sure which doll to finish up today. I think it will be an auction doll. Hopefully tomorrow I will be finished with two commission dolls. They are so close!
Better go get busy! : )

Now what did I do today...
First off I finished another commission face. That means I have two dolls that still need their hair and body work but I am feeling pretty good about it! I will take a lot of pictures soon and show them off. One is Sonja from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Dalia's Dolls made the most amazing outfit! I am so lucky to be able to photograph this doll in her perfect little costume. Can't wait to share!
I managed to prepare super health food for the 3rd day in a row. I have been playing with fresh herbs to get all of the flavor and it really works. I am also buying fresh and less so I won't waste anything.
Oh yeah - and I started Resident Evil 4 over again from the beginning. No big guns... starting from scratch. I never thought in a million years I would ever really enjoy a video game but Wii changed my mind. Love it!
This game took several weeks for me to finish the first time around. But then I got all of these big machine guns and it was much easier. Then it got boring so that is why I am doing it over again.

Finished up a face today..
on a commissioned doll. She is a Honey Antoinette which I think may be my favorite skin tones of the Antoinettes. I like Spice too. They are all good I just especially love Honey. Tomorrow I will be working on another commission and I just looked at my Google Calendar and noticed which doll I will be working on and I haven't finished that reroot! So I am going to finish that up tonight.
Been watching QVC! I know - I should stay away but it reminds me that Christmas is only 44 days away and puts me in the spirit. After all - I will be decorating the tree in a couple of weeks! WOW - I love pulling out my ornaments that I have collected for over 20 years now. It just makes them special.. I remember mostly where I got them or who gave them to me.
Now that I know I need to reroot I am going to do it right now. It is almost done but not quite yet. Glad I saw that on my calendar!

I had to post this! Too cute!
I am a big Taylor Swift fan and I just have to share this. This was from Saturday Night when she hosted SNL.
Well - it is November already...
In Florida we had record breaking highs over the month of October. It was so hot here. It is still warm but now we will be getting rain from that hurricane. Rain is fine but always hoping for a cold front. When it comes to this time of year I really look forward to cooler weather. So far we have had a couple of cool days and that is it. Wahhh
I scheduled out my entire month so I could get those commissions completed before the New Year! It will be 2010 very soon. What happened to 2009? Christmas is in 44 days! And no - I am not ready. Though I do buy all of my Christmas paper on sale after Christmas so I am set there.
I didn't post my Dorothy I finished yesterday. I am going to repaint the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion too and will have those available later on. Hoping to breath life into them. They are so very cool.
Guess I had better go eat some breakfast and get this ball rolling.
Happy Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!! LL

So I woke up late...
dang it! I forgot to set my alarm and just slept my morning away. I guess I needed it. But now I don't feel like playing with my two dolls. I want to start early on them. Instead I think I will do the house cleaning today and finish up the dolls tomorrow.
I will work better in a cleaner environment anyway!
So off to get Roxy up, eat something, and then clean clean clean!!!
Check out my newest inspiration. I want to do some kind of evil mermaid and I found this picture which is very close to what I have been thinking - not exactly but close...

Ohhh - someone forgot about her blog!
I have been rather caught up in creating and completely forgot to update. Right now I am working on two dolls. One is from the Graveyard Vampire painting and she should be completed tomorrow. The other is an Antoinette and also should be finished tomorrow. Both have fashions.
I still have quite a few commissions to complete so I will be working on those next week only once these two dolls are finished. I have so many ideas and things that are coming up! I am really excited about taking repainting so much further with my creativity and making dolls that are truly unique and one of a kind.
The house has suffered however. Yikes! I plan on cleaning Friday. I have a lot of organizing I want to get done before the holidays. I never decorated for Halloween (sadly) and I didn't get one trick or treater.
Roxy and her best buddy, Misa did get dressed up for a party. I am posting a picture. I loved their costumes! Roxy is wearing the pink wig.
I am super tired so I am off to bed. Night!
